  • Prevention of smoking, drug, alcohol abuse and HIV/AIDS spread

    Periodically we conduct events, lectures and seminars propagating healthy lifestyle among young people.
  • Youth employment

    We initiate training sessions at which jobless young people learn how to compile professional resumes and behave at interviews, how to register an enterprise and draft a successful business plan. We also develop working places, facilitate beginning entrepreneurs and impaired young people.
  • Environmental sustainability and cultural heritage protection

    We organise environmental protection events, sports competitions, outings to countryside.
  • Democratic society development

    Through public hearings, round tables, polls we integrate the principles of civil society. Includes commitment to developing partnership with international non-governmental organisations and participation in international summits, seminars and conferences. We also promote non-governmental media and make available the benefits of new technologies to the local youth community.

Our Accomplishments

  • E-newsletter Forum. Founded in 2002. The issues are sent to 4,940 subscribers from Ukraine and other countries. The newsletter covers NGOs and their activities; information on international exchange programmes; youth movement; monitoring of political and economic situation in Vinnytsia oblast; latest developments in Vinnytsia oblast;

  • Vinnytsia oblast monthly youth newspaper Forum.founded in 2003;

  • 2001-2002 Youth Centre Forum issued analytical digest of latest news in youth community, NGO movement. The issues were delivered to all local media, public offices, people's deputies, NGOs, educational institutions, etc.;

  • We are initiators of the youth newspaper Student, collections of children stories, poems, articles written by young people. We have compiled and distributed youth NGO directories Youth Associations, Vinnytsia Youth 2003, Vinnytsia Youth 2004;

  • We have conducted educational training sessions and seminars: Business Basics, Business Planning, If I Were President, I Am City Council Deputy, In Search for a Job, Overcoming Conflicts;

  • Together with Vinnytsia Department of Ministry of Ukraine for Family, Children and Youth we conducted events propagating healthy lifestyle, promoting natural resources preservation, developing skills for efficient job search: contest Healthy Advertising; Civic and Political Awareness of Young People; Pure Environment in Podillya; We Stand for Healthy Lifestyle; Vinnytsia Oblast Free from AIDS; We are Intellectuals; Say NO to Smoking; AIDS is Everybody's Concern; In Search for Employment; Legal Aspects of Employment; HIV/AIDS: Questions and Answers; HIV/AIDS. What We Must Know, etc.;

  • We have organised oblast contest of young economists; arranged meetings with successful businessmen in Vinnytsia oblast. In addition, young economists club has been in work since then;

  • we develop proposals for Vinnytsia City Council as well as for Vinnytsia oblast State Administration with regards to youth policy in the city and oblast. Periodically we conduct polls, monitor work of local media, keep track of social and economic development in Vinnytsia oblast;

  • we have conducted number of seminars on how to search the required information in the Internet: job search, studying abroad, finding grant proposals, creating web-resources, youth movement in the Internet, distance learning, etc. Includes assistance to individual and legal entities in creation their own web-sites;

  • we were co-organisers of the first and second oblast web-design contest among students. http://www.vn.iatp.org.ua/web/; and of the first oblast computer animation contest;

  • we have compiled and distributed brochures on HIV/AIDS prevention; conducted events Youth Against Smoking; Youth for Clear Environment. Thereto, every now and then we hold actions aimed to eliminate youth delinquency;

  • Youth Centre Forum established annual charity action for large families Many Children - Strong Ukraine. Besides, together with Vinnytsia Oblast Youth NGO Committee we arranged performances and delivered presents to children from orphan house Gnizdechko;

  • Youth Centre Forum enables its members to have field practice in public bodies, study within and outside Vinnytsia oblast, study English;

  • Forum members have conducted independent monitoring of political processes in Vinnytsia oblast, compiled lists of polling station commissioners and observers; assisted to OSCE official observers;

  • betweentimes we provide consulting representatives of other non-governmental organisations on NGO registration, grant proposals preparation, NGO management, etc.

Co-operation with international institutions

  • Project promoting prevention of AIDS spread, smoking and drug abuse among young people in Vinnitsa oblast - Learning for Prevention. The project is financially supported by the Embassy of the United States to Ukraine, Public Affairs Section.
  • The International Youth Camp within the framework of the project East-West: overcoming stereotypes, the European program "Youth". Project goal: youth integration through sharing cultural and historical knowledge, strengthening tolerance, mutual respect and understanding between nations >>>.
  • Project Youth is against smoking, promoting prevention smoking among Vinnitsa oblast youth. Finland Embassy in Ukraine.
  • Summer camp entitled “Explore Your City” for local youth under Project Smile Grant/IREX..
  • Integration with Europe. Embassy of Switzerland, 2005. The project foresees compilation of a brochure, CD about activities and work of Youth Centre Forum; as well as translation of Youth Centre Forum's web site http://www.mcforum.vinnitsa.com in English.
  • Youth Centre Forum was a regional partner of the Renaissance Foundation, 2003, 2004.

  • World Without Barriers. Embassy of the Netherlands, 2004. The result of the project was creation of a map of drive-ins to public places for people in wheel chairs. The project draw public attention to the problem of physically incapacitated people.
  • The international project "East-West - Overcoming the Barriers" within the framework of the European Program Youth. Poland, 2004.
  • Youth and Elections. Embassy of the United States of America, 2004. Within the project we trained 200 observers for the upcoming presidential election in autumn 2004.

  • Project Fresh Water is Invaluable Treasure. Embassy of Finland to Ukraine, 2003. The project aims to nurture in school children prudent attitude to fresh water.

  • Public Activists Club. Institute for Democracy in Eastern Europe, IDEE, 2003. Young leaders had periodical discussions on defining youth problems in Vinnytsia oblast and finding ways to their solution;

  • Community Connections for a City Community. "Project Harmony, Inc," the US Department of State, 2003. The project aims to unite international programmes alumni residing in the city of Vinnytsia. The alumni of various ages and professions met in an unofficial atmosphere to talk about their future plans and work out strategies for co-operation.

  • AIDS… We'll Combat it Together. Small Embassy Projects Programme (Matra/KAP) - Kingdom of the Netherlands, 2002-2003. The project envisages compilation of the book AIDS… We'll Combat it Together with the latest statistics on HIV/AIDS problem; and lectures for young people of Vinnytsia oblast.

  • Bringing the Internet and the Impaired People Together. Technical Cooperation Department - Embassy of Canada, 2002. Physically challenged people had free Dail-Up access to the Internet.

  • Open the World through the Internet. IATP Mini Grants Programme, IATP/IREX (International Research & Exchange Board), 2001. The project's main purpose was to create a web site http://www.mcforum.vinnitsa.com/inv/ of virtual opportunities for physically disabled people, and namely lists of charity foundations, legislature, distance learning programmes. The site also enables incapacitated people to exchange views on the forum, purchase or sell, etc.
